For Vessels Travelling the Inside Passage...

A useful checklist for Preparing a Vessel for an Inside Passage Cruise is attached -you may download
it as a printable .pdf file.

The British Columbia Vessel Traffic System monitors larger vessel traffic along the BC west
coast & inside passage. Monitoring the correct VHF radio channel enables mariners to know the
positions of reporting vessels (very handy when approaching non-AIS equipped vessels not visible
to radar while they are underway behind a point, island or bend).

The attached VTS Northbound checklist and VTS Southbound checklist .pdf files provides the appropriate
VHF channels to monitor and the vessel check-in points. Monitoring or programming these channels
into your VHFchannel scanning features helps to limit unwanted surprises!
